Methods of payment

1) PayPal via our website

Log in to the CFHS website, select the Members’ Area menu and follow the instructions under ‘How to renew your membership’. When the PayPal screen is displayed you can EITHER log in to your PayPal account if you have one OR select the option below ‘pay by debit/credit card’ to pay as a guest user. (Even as a guest user, however, you will need to supply a telephone number and email address.)

If you wish to change your membership type, e.g. switching from individual to family, please update your user details before you click to go to PayPal.

2) Standing order

If you already have one in place you need do nothing. If not, download a form, see below, use the form in the centre of your December Journal , collect a paper copy at the December meeting OR set up a standing order via online banking. The payment date should be 10th. January. Send the form to your bank, not to the society.


Sort code 09-01-54; account number 66031084. Please include your surname and initials in the reference.

4) Cash or cheque at the meeting in September

If paying by cash bring the exact amount with you. Cheques should be made out to ‘Coventry Family History Society’. Write your full name on the back.

5) Cheque by post

Send a cheque to the Membership Secretary (the address is on the inside front cover of the Journal). Write your full name on the back.

Access to the Members’ Area

We know it can be easy to forget to renew, so there is a one month grace period in which you will still get access to the Members’ Area of the website. If you have not renewed by the end of January then that access will be switched off.

Coventry FHS is a registered charity. If you are a UK basic rate taxpayer, please complete a Gift Aid form so that we can reclaim the Income Tax from your subscription.
