First check your Membership type – single or joint
If you wish to renew your existing membership type
Log in to the CFHS website, select the “My Membership” menu option. This takes you to the “My Account” page. Here you will see various tabs of information. Click on the “Memberships” tab and you will see your membership listed.
Click the “Renew” button to renew your membership (right side of the screen). This puts the membership into your “basket” in the Shop and you pay via the checkout.
If you wish to change your membership type, e.g. switching from individual to family
Log into the CFHS website, so that the system picks up your member details.
Go to the “Join CovFHS” page and select the new type of membership you require. Complete the purchase via the shop checkout.
The old membership will expire at the end of the year.
Methods of payment
1) Credit/Debit card or PayPal via our website
If you buy or renew membership online, the transaction is performed by the “Shop” software in the same manner as buying a book or dataset.
At the checkout, you have a choice of paying using a debit/credit card or via PayPal.
2) Standing order
If you already have one in place you need do nothing. If not, download a form, see below, use the form in the centre of your December Journal, collect a paper copy at the December meeting OR set up a standing order via online banking. The payment date should be 10th. January. Send the form to your bank, not to the society.
3) BACS
Sort code 09-01-54; account number 66031084. Please include your surname and initials in the reference.
4) Cash or cheque at the meeting in September
If paying by cash bring the exact amount with you. Cheques should be made out to ‘Coventry Family History Society’. Write your full name on the back.
5) Cheque by post
Send a cheque to the Membership Secretary (the address is on the inside front cover of the Journal). Write your full name on the back.
Access to the Members’ Area
We know it can be easy to forget to renew, so there is a one month grace period in which you will still get access to the Members’ Area of the website. If you have not renewed by the end of January then that access will be switched off.

Gift Aid
Coventry FHS is a registered charity. If you are a UK basic rate taxpayer, please complete a Gift Aid form so that we can reclaim the Income Tax from your subscription.
