We have been informed by the Old Coventrians Rugby Club, that we are unable to have the venue for our next Social meeting on 12th January 2026, as they have a large funeral.
We have ben able to re-arrange our meeting to Monday 19th January 2026. We have been in touch with our speaker Ian Porter who is able to give his talk on this date.
Our speaker Ian Porter starts his talk on the Real Wolf Hall with an overview of Henry’s life. We go on to consider why he behaved so badly in his later years, putting forward a medical explanation. Ian gives a brief outline of Thomas Cromwell’s and Anne Boleyn’s early lives before going on to talk about the plot against Anne, and how Cromwell came to eventually suffer the same fate as her.
