UPDATE STATEMENT – CORONAVIRUS
Exactly one week ago The Committee issued a statement regarding the spread
of Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the decision to cancel meetings and social
activities for March and April. This was taken in the climate at that time and
with the knowledge available.
In view of the acceleration that the virus has spread, and in line with recommendations from the Government, the Committee have decided to now cancel all meetings until the end of July 2020.
This decision has been taken with the knowledge that the majority of our
membership are classed within the ‘at risk’ category and will have been
instructed to self-isolate for at least 12 weeks.
The Committee will be keeping in contact with one another in order to keep the
Society functioning as best it can in these troubled times. We hope you can
appreciate that this decision has been taken with the utmost concern for our
members, and hope that we will see you all when we hear the ‘all clear’ siren.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will advise as soon as further information and guidance is made available.
Please stay safe and well.
