About The Courtaulds Register of Hands
The database was transcribed by members of Coventry Family History Society from a number of record books in Courtaulds archives. These books contain lists of starters (and leavers) virtually from the start of the Courtaulds operation in Coventry in the early 1900’s until about 1932. Only the starters have been transcribed as they contain age and address information about the person employed. The leavers lists contain only name and reason for leaving, department and date. There is no sure way of tying this information to the original starter entry.
Important Note: CovFHS Databases will only run under Microsoft Windows operating system.
