COVENTRY’S LONDON ROAD CEMETERY

This book gives a real insight into The London Road Cemetery in Coventry, and some of the people who have found their final resting place within the cemetery. Conceived and designed by Joseph Paxton to cater for a greater need of burial space for people of Coventry, the cemetery was opened in 1847.

The details contained in the book give an account of the layout of the site, the architecture of the buildings and some explanation of the type of memorial stones within the Cemetery.

Coupled with this, there are short recollections of the lives of over sixty prominent people who helped to shape Coventry and the industrial history within the City. All these people are interred within the cemetery along with many family members.
